A proud graduate of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, Matthew has joined the Schulz Trade Law team as a paralegal with emphasis on business development, and administration through various functions, such as marketing, and office administration. He brings a depth of knowledge in multiple disciplines including prior experience in commercial litigation.

Career Highlights

Matthew was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to provide support for the largest corporate export control monitorship in U.S. history. Matthew consistently navigates the waters of managing the day-to-day operations of the firm. Additionally, he provides efficient solutions in the new client onboarding process. Adept in drafting trade documents, and creating streamlined summaries of both complex import, and export documents. Often responsible for corresponding with clients, U.S Customs, and providing general compliance analysis. In addition, drawing on his past entrepreneurial experience of work in small business development, he is an integral part of the firm marketing and advertising agenda. Coordinating relationships with the numerous professional affiliations that Schulz Trade Law belongs too, he enjoys facilitating events, and programming to further the opportunities for the firm to help alleviate the headaches that come with the lack of a proper compliance program for members of these affiliations.                    

 

He possesses a global perspective having familial ties in both Germany, and Costa Rica. He is a bilingual Spanish speaker born in Costa Rica. He presently holds public office in the State of Texas as a notary public, and provides certified translation services in Spanish, and English. He attended Spring Hill College on a full ride academic and rugby scholarship. He anticipates attending Law School in the coming years and will be sitting for the Customs Broker exam.  In his free time, he plays for the Dallas rugby team, and has hopes of playing international test Rugby 7’s.
