Our practice focuses on advising clients on both export and import compliance, including EAR & ITAR, export licensing, sanctions and OFAC compliance, voluntary self-disclosures, investigations, responding to subpoenas or other outreach from the U.S. Government, denied party screenings, EEI filings, CCATS submissions, antiboycott measures, customs regulations, prior disclosures, duty savings, tariff classification, protests, ruling requests, trade remedies, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), country of origin, UFLPA, valuation, CFIUS, mergers and acquisitions trade due diligence, and other aspects of trade and federal regulatory compliance. We are committed to ensuring the seamless flow of international trade and regulatory compliance for our clients.

Schulz Trade Law PLLC is seeking an experienced Supervisory Attorney / Senior Associate to join our select team, supervise and manage multiple client matters through to completion, and provide expert counsel on international trade matters with a focus on solutions.

 

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in both import and export compliance, and will advise clients on related federal regulatory matters such as CFIUS (Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States) reviews and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The employee will support the Managing Partner and Senior Counsel and will supervise and manage the Associate Attorneys.

Key Responsibilities

Client Representation: 

Provide strategic advice and representation to clients of various sizes on complex trade matters.

Lead Attorney:

Serve as lead counsel managing legal strategy and execution.

Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Communication: 

Work efficiently with the Managing Partner, other attorneys, and staff to develop legal strategies and meet client needs.

Supervisory Role:

Delegate and guide appropriate staff on client matters, supervise the work of other attorneys and staff, and take ownership of matters from intake through completion.

Firm Culture:

Partner with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional solution-focused work product that benefits the client and fosters a positive firm culture.

Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for a detail-oriented, experienced, and highly motivated attorney with law firm experience who excels in managing a varied workload while fostering a collaborative, inclusive firm culture. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, entrepreneurial, ethical, and dedicated to delivering outstanding legal services to a wide range of clients. The candidate will be passionate about keeping up with evolving trade laws and regulations and advising on their business impact. We highly value multilingual candidates.

Meeting Deadlines

Deliver quality work within internal, client, and governmental deadlines.

​A minimum of 6+ years of experience in international trade at a law firm, preferably at a large law firm, with proven experience advising on complex international trade and related federal regulatory matters.

Experience consistently billing at least 1,800 hours annually.​

Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage client matters independently through to completion, while working effectively as part of a team.​

Active bar license in good standing.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range

$150,000–$200,000

per year, depending on experience

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), short- and long-term disability, and life insurance.​

Annual Bonus

Up to 20%

performance-based, of salary

Work Location: In-office in Dallas, Texas, a minimum of 4 full days per week.

Continuing Education: Substantial opportunities such as webinars, conferences, and certifications.
