Kate has assisted both U.S. and international companies in interpreting the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), sanctions and embargoes administered by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customs regulations, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Prior to joining Schulz Trade Law, she worked at Axiom, the world’s leading alternative legal service provider, where she served clients across all industries, such as L3Harris, Honeywell, Baker Hughes, Industrial Scientific, Chevron Phillips Chemical, Herbalife Nutrition, Baker Hughes GE, Weatherford International, Ernst & Young, and Raytheon. Her work involved advising on sanctions issues, export controls, and customs compliance, as well as conducting due diligence, building compliance programs, revising policies, and leading internal investigations for various companies.

Before Axiom, she worked as an Associate in various law firms, handling assignments, such as drafting ITAR licenses, leading export and import compliance audits, preparing voluntary disclosures, advising on sanctions compliance, conducting due diligence, and developing trade compliance programs.
